Eyeliner smudging - You probably would be owning all the beauty and cosmetic products, it's all about the application. Let me share Six and a half tips to prevent the Eyeliner Smudging problem during makeup.

Eyeliner smudging

This is possibly one of the most asked questions across platforms on eyeliner smudging. I have experienced that before and I know it is one of the most frustrating things. In this article, I have compiled six-and-a-half tips and techniques to help your eyeliner and your eye makeup stay put.

Tip number one

Consider your skincare this often overlooks but, if you are using an eye cream that's really emollient. Or if you're using face oils or your face cream that has a lot of oils in it, your eyeliner doesn't stand much of a chance. You might want to use a lightweight eye cream or face cream for those days that you really want your eye makeup to last.

Tip number two prime

I feel like most people nowadays prime the eyelid but we're going to take this a  step further. We're really going to get that eye primer into the lash line onto the lid right up to the brow. At that very outer corner of the eye, where makeup always smudges around the tear duct. That's a hot spot for me as well and right across the lower lash line.

The reason that I make up my grades is that there is oil and moisture collecting around the eyes. So a heavy-duty eye primer even in areas that you may not be applying eye shadows, stays under the eye on the lower lash line. That will help to keep that oiliness and moisture at bay so that your eye makeup lasts longer.

Tip number three

Set if you are not already setting your under-eye concealer with a powder then that will definitely help. If you're already doing that, then you can take it again a step further and set the entire eye area. So this is around the tear ducts up to the brow bone on the side of the eyes. All the areas that we place that primer and it works in exactly the same way you're keeping that area dry and you're not allowing oil to collect so that it doesn't ruin your makeup.

Tip number four

This one is going to sound obvious but use a long-wearing eyeliner black kohl. So my absolute favorite long-wearing eyeliner is the makeup geek gel liner in immortal. This one is absolutely indelible, I find it quite hard to remove. So I reserved it for those days where I just cannot tolerate any eye makeup smudging.

Tip number five

You can set your eyeliner, typically you'd set a black eyeliner with a black eye shadow and this is most helpful if you are wearing a gel eyeliner. You can just lightly pat a matte black shadow over the top. That will really help the eyeliner to last longer and you can also correct any little mistakes with that.

Trick tip number six

And this is for those of you who like to tight line the upper lash line with black. But you also want to wear nude eyeliner on the lower waterline and you don't want them to mix. The key is to apply the tight line early on in the makeup application and give it some time to transfer. Probably it will move a bit in the first 10 to 20 minutes, that's the kind of a fact of life.

But with the right formula, it will eventually set. So you finish off the rest of your makeup. Maybe pick out your outfit, do your hair and then revisit the lower waterline. At that stage, you can take a Q-tip and just run it across the lower waterline to pick up any of that black residue. Apply your nude eyeliner, and voila you will have a crisp and clean nude waterline for hours.

Bonus Tip a half

This is for my ladies that have quite weepy watery eyes I'm talking about myself here. Often I get black Hayes's around the tear duct and the best solution to avoid this is don't apply eyeliner in the inner third of the eye. I know it's not the most elegant or complicated solution but I find it's the one that works.

If you found this article helpful, let me know in the comments below and what is your number one makeup struggle is. Maybe we can make a bit of a miniseries out of this idea.

It is like 36  degrees in here and everything on my face is so to move a bit except for my eye makeup, I call that a win-win.

Best fingers crossed
