A Spanish omelette can be prepared with only a few ingredients and is designed to be served the same day it is made. This meal might not be the most traditional one when it comes with three eggs, potatoes, onion, green chillies, coriander and salt. But for sure it is delicious.

In order to prepare this meal quickly and efficiently opt for pre-chopped vegetables from store-bought packages or buy fresh vegetables and slice them as you need them. This will speed up the preparation process making it possible to have breakfast ready in less than twenty minutes!

Let us begin the recipe for Spanish omelette in 20 easy steps:

  1. Chopping the veggies – Choose from a wide range of veggies of your choice which may include tomato, asparagus, bell peppers etc., Slice the potatoes & onions of uniform thickness. Here I will explain the way my kids love to have this meal.
  2. Add a generous amount of any vegetable oil to a frying pan, add the chopped potatoes and cook for a minute at medium to low flame.
  3. A minute is more than enough for the potatoes to cook, now let’s top the potatoes with some sliced onions and cook for 3 to 5 mins maximum.
  4. Remove the veggies from the frying pan & strain off the excess oil.
  5. Cook eggs using the following method – Crack three eggs into a separate bowl, beat slightly with a fork or any weapon of your choice.
  6. Perfect time to add the cooked veggies, salt, pepper, green chillies etc., to the eggs in the bowl.
  7. Combine all ingredients together, with soft hands.
  8. To the same pan add oil to coat the bottom of the frying pan and simmer the flame.
  9. Transfer the egg and veggies mixture to the pan and quickly spread out with a spoon, wait for a minute, so that the eggs and veggies are held together.
  10. Flipping the Spanish omelette may seem a hideous task, simply follow the instructions and give it a try. You may choose to do this in two different ways
  • Cover the pan with a large flat plate, flip all ingredients to the plate and slide back the Spanish omelette to the pan, for the other side to cook.
  • Use a large spatula that can hold the majority of the Spanish omelette and flip the regular way we flip our pancakes.
  1. Cook the other side for a minute or two, until they turn golden.
  2. Transfer the Spanish omelette to a serving plate.
  3. Cut the Spanish omelettes into any desired shape and size, which your kids prefer.
  4. Sprinkle with some parsley, thyme and serve hot
  5. If you are a cheese lover, add few slices of Jack cheese on the second side.
  6. Spanish omelette is a super-easy way to make an omelette for a meal. It sounds fancy, but it’s not hard to make in the least possible time and with minimum ingredients.
